Kind Ganesha, the Lord of Beginnings and Remover of Obstacles is dancing and thus showing his cheerful side. In one of the left hands he is holding a lotus flower (water lily) a symbol for both purity and enlightenment, in the other he is holding his favorite treat, a bowl with laddus (sweet ball). In one of his right hands he is holding his battle-ax to protect those who worship him and cut away bad thoughts and in his other right hand is making the blessing gesture. Underneath is his Vahana, the mouse / rat.
